TLC taps local dance scene for new TV show - VIDEOS

From the station that brings us "Toddlers in Tiaras" and "19 Kids and Counting" comes a brand new drama all about competitive Irish dancing, and it will include dancers and teachers from one Buffalo school.

On Oct. 9, TLC premieres "The Big Jig," a one-off televised special about some of the best Irish step dancers in the world, including a couple from Buffalo's own Rince Na Tiarna School of Irish Dance. Julia and Emily Marino, of Rochester, are two of the show's stars. Cameras followed them all the way to Ireland where they represented Rince Na Tiarna at the World Irish Dancing Championships.

The videos above and below also feature Rince Na Tiarna teacher and founder Mary Kay Heneghan, who has produced multiple regional, national and world champion soloists and teams.
