Grab your kilts and caber poles, the 12th annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival is almost here.
Taking place September 15 and 16 on the lakeside grounds of Krull Park at Olcott Beach, attendees can celebrate the Celtic heritage with music, food, entertainment and Highland Games.
According to the Society,
In Autumn of 2001 the Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games, the ultimate celebration of the local area and Celtic heritage, was formed. This two day event draws about 12,000 guests and hundreds of participants. Now in its 12th year, all are invited to become a part of the fun and festivities.
There is free parking at the festival and lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. Admission is $15 on Saturday, $10 on Sunday and children 12 and under are free. You can also purchase a weekend pass for $20.
The highly anticipated Highland Games will also be taking place, bringing in athletes from all over to test their skills. “Over 60 athletes from across the U.S. and Canada will be competing in six different divisions over two days, to decide the winner of “Athlete of the Day” in each division. We will also be awarding ‘Athlete of the Year’ for each of these divisions, which is decided over the course of the year by earning points for where they have placed in seven games starting back in October,” says the Society.
