A Buffalo Bills wedding for two die-hard fans

It’s easy to pick out wedding colors when the nuptials and subsequent celebration are Buffalo Bills-themed.
Brad and Lisa Simcoe, who were married this past summer, are die-hard Bills fans who proudly donned the blue, red and white on their wedding day. The groom and groomsmen went so far as to replace tuxes with Bills jersey, and the bridesmaids wore red cocktail-length dresses to coordinate.
And it wasn’t just apparel that was straight from the Ralph Wilson runway—err, stadium.
“Our invitations were tickets,” Lisa Simcoe told BuffaloBills.com. “It started as a basic ticket, but we added more detail. We made the bottom rip off and I used a sewing machine to get the perforation.”
The “Shout” song was played every hour, on the hour, during the couple’s reception. Guests were encouraged to wave the Bills towels—with names of the newlyweds emblazoned on them—around in the air. The enthusiasm in the banquet facility was so infectious that even attendees of weddings in nearby banquet rooms were trying to get in, Brad Simcoe said in the BuffaloBills.com interview.
And the symbolic icing on the cake was literally the wedding cake’s icing. The cake, in the shape of Ralph Wilson Stadium, featured two fondant bride and groom figures that looked like the recently wed couple.
This Bills wedding is just one of the many unique ways that Buffalo football fans show their enthusiasm for their team. BuffaloBills.com is currently collecting other interesting stories about such football fanatics. Find out more about the search here.
