Newlywed Buffalo couple Max and Katie Bichler has been selected to participate on CBS reality show “The Amazing Race,” giving the duo a chance to win $1 million dollars in a competition against 10 other pairs.

Max Bichler, a 30-year-old cigar salesman, and Katie Bichler, a 24-year-old pharmacist, will follow clues across five continents and nine countries in their frenetic quest. The season begins at 8 p.m. on Feb. 17 on CBS Network.

According to their bios on CBS, Max Bichler represents Rocky Patel Premium Cigar Company out of Boston. Among the other eccentricities of their questionnaire:

—Katie refers to Max as “Rush Limbaugh Jr.”
—They’ve been married for four months and dated long-distance for three years. Explosive situation or an advantage?
—Max says Katie has the looks of Jessica Simpson and the actions of Ann Romney.

Want to know what obstacles the locals will be faced with?

[They’ll] skydive from 10,000 feet in Bora Bora, participate in a Shemozzle race in New Zealand, hunt for scorpions with the Bushmen of Botswana and scale the treacherous north face of the Eiger Mountain in Switzerland.

Katie’s an interesting character—as the video explains, she is a former Buffalo Jill and also has earned her doctoral degree. Max seems confident, too, and refers to Katie as his “secret weapon.”

“I’m not interested in lifelong friends or anything like that, I just want to win,” Max Bichler says just before the closing.

Do you think Katie can handle scorpions? Will Max get into a tussle with a Bushman? Are either of them afraid of heights? All these questions will be answered in the CBS reality drama.
