The woman who stole the show in Tide’s comical “Miracle Stain” commercial is a Buffalo native, even though her character roots for the Ravens.

Carmen Ruby Floyd, an actress who’s appeared in TV shows such as “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Mercy,” played a pivotal role in the laundry detergent ad telling the story of one man’s “miracle stain” resembling Joe Montana. The stained-jersey 49ers fan develops a cult-like following. His wife, played by Floyd, puts an end to the Montana stain mania by washing the soiled shirt.

“Go, Ravens,” Floyd’s character says to the camera with a smirk.

“Tide really broke through the clutter with a very engaging spot,” Tim Calkins, a professor at the Northwestern’s Kellogg School, told MSN Money.

Kellogg School of Management, which ranks Super Bowl ads, named Tide’s “Miracle Stain” commercial the winner in terms of effectively supporting the brand.

USA Today also ranks Super Bowl ads annually. The national news outlet placed the Tide ad at No. 2 on its list, not far from the heart-tugging Budweiser commercial.

“It was quite wonderful and all we did was laugh on set. It was one of the easiest, best jobs,” Floyd said in a WIVB interview. “It’s a wonderful blessing, it’s really really great and I’m so fortunate to do this.”
