He’s not the most conventional cowboy, but boy can he put on a show.

Cowboy Troy, also known as Troy Coleman, got his bog break under the guidance of big-shot country music duo, Big and Rich. Years later, Coleman is still rocking audiences with his alternative country music that he refers to as “hick hop.”

According to his website, “When you’re six feet, five inches tall you stand out. Add a cowboy hat and you stand out even more. Then, make the subject from Texas with darker than average skin and there’s no question that Cowboy Troy isn’t exactly an average guy. Yet while Troy may revel in being instantly identifiable from the rank and file in many ways, he also feels that his music shouldn’t be deemed something outrageous, gimmicky, or bizarre.”

It took awhile for country music radio to warm up to his different style, but since the release of “I Play Chicken With The Train,” they couldn’t ignore him any longer. That single kickstarted Coleman’s career and eventually landed him a co-hosting gig with Jewel on “Nashville Star.”

Now you can see Cowboy Troy in all his glory at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Club Infinity. Tickets for the show are $10 for general admission and can be purchased here.

For more information on the show, be sure to check out the event’s Facebook page for details.
