Get saucy at Oinktoberfest

Before you officially give in to pumpkin spice latte season, be sure to check out this outdoor grilling and BBQ festival.

Oinktoberfest will kick off today at 5 p.m. at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence. Festivities will continue all weekend, until Sunday evening. For a full schedule of events, check out the Oinktoberfest page here.

This year, event organizers will be honoring our neighbors to the north with the theme “Oh, Canada!” for the festival. A fitting title since the KCBS Grand Championship trophy has been won by Canadian cooking teams the last two years—the Q’n Canucks from nearby Guelph, Ontario and Can’t Stop Grillin’ from Puslinch, Ontario.

According to Oinktoberfest,

Last year, 57 teams competed in the KCBS Competition on Saturday and 32 in the Sunday contests. They came from across the Northeast, Canada, and as far away as Florida.

An incredible number of competitors from all over North America will be in attendance this year, with some of the best BBQ to offer.
