Grabbitz releases free EP on SoundCloud

blog by Ben Tsujimoto  •

Offering your hard work for free—for exposure and competition’s sake—must be a tough reality to accept for aspiring musicians, but in the age of SoundCloud and YouTube, combined with the overwhelming number of laptop DJs, the “free” approach is often necessary.

In our earlier interview with Grabbitz about his inclusion in Jokke Sommer’s Wingsuit YouTube video, the rapper-producer mentioned that he’d release his five-track EP on his 20th birthday—this past Monday. Here it is:

Entitled “Grave Escape,” the EP features all original dub-step mixes by the local producer, who’s frequently collaborated with Buffalo rapper Chae Hawk. The duo performed as an opener for Salt-N-Pepa and LL Cool J on the waterfront this summer through both Buffalo Place concert series.

I now have “I’m gonna make you bounce” lodged in my head the rest of the day, and that’s a little awkward to say aloud in the workplace. Thanks, Grabbitz.
