Before you criticize German trance DJ Markus Schulz for making a big deal out of his first American bus tour, bear in mind that he travels internationally for the majority of his shows. Amsterdam, Ibiza, South Africa, Prague and Australia are just a few distant locations to which he’s flown, so the fact that he’s rolling around in an earth-bound vehicle for his North American Scream Tour is out of the norm.

Schulz, an electronic dance music veteran who’s remixed tracks all the way back to the Backstreet Boys’ 1996 hit “We’ve got it going down” to Jewel’s “Intuition,” has been booked for a 10 p.m. show on April 12 at Statler City’s Rendezvous the Niteclub. Tickets are on sale for $24 and can be purchased here. 

If you’re familiar with EDM, it’s a music genre that—in many aspects—is dominated by artists in their 20s with relatively little staying power, which makes Schulz’s perseverance to the ripe age of 38 even more impressive. His 20-stop tour takes him all over the United States from Boston to Austin to San Diego, and the bus trip will be documented on Schulz’s YouTube channel and his Facebook page.

One of Schulz’s most recent plaudits was winning “America’s Best DJ” award through DJ Times Magazine, which incorporated a large-scale fan voting into determining the winner.
