OMG, Amherst teen on ‘Glee’! - VIDEOS

One Amherst teen will start off the new school year at McKinley High School—not the one in Buffalo, but the one depicted on Fox TV hit “Glee.”
Jacob Artist, 19, will make his “Glee” debut Thursday night as Jake Puckerman, half brother to Noah “Puck” Puckerman, the fictional high school’s established bad boy.
The Buffalo News’ Anne Neville interviewed Artist, a 2012 Williamsville South alumnus who move to Los Angeles after graduation to pursue a career in acting. He completed a few rounds of auditions for the show before finally learning that he landed the role.
“There was a lot of screaming, I’m pretty positive my mother was crying for like 20 minutes,” Artist told the Buffalo News.
According to the “Glee” website, Artist’s character—much like his rebel big brother on the show—is a “bad boy” who tries out for McKinley’s glee club, the New Directions.
Much like his character’s older half brother, his soft side will undoubtedly come through in song. Listen to Artist’s rendition of the Fray’s “Never Say Never”:
Catch Artist and the rest of the glee club kids at 9 p.m. Thursday on Fox.
