Come support this great event with a night of entertainment and fundraising, to raise money for the Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation.

Six local bands have donated their time to put on a great show at Rockin’ for Rice with featured acts including Son of the Sun, Wolf Tickets, ChosenOnes, Red Delicious, Come Honor and Shout it Out. Doors for the show will open at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Town Ballroom with raffle items and 50/50 chances all night.

According to Rockin’ for Rice,

In July of 2011 Alexandria “Alix” Rice, was longboarding home when struck and killed by a drunk driver. Alix loved her longboard “Rupert”. She also loved her friends. She would do almost anything for them. It was common to find that Alix had gone out of her way to turn a friends awful day around.

Due to her extreme kindness and selflessness, a skatepark is being erected in her name. The Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation was formed in August, 2012. It is a 501c3 Not-for-profit company whose sole purpose is to make this dream a reality. It will be an all concrete California style skatepark. So even longboarders can enjoy its existence. We are currently working with a local municipality.

For those interested in donating to the skate park, head over to the Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation Inc. donation page.
