Shopping with a Stylist: Five for $50 in WIlliamsville

blog by Molly Hoeltke • February 01, 2013 @ 11:08am
As a stylist, I love finding the perfect pieces for every type of person—but that does not mean shopping without a budget! I have often found that women will opt out of boutique shopping under the assumption that the prices will be out of their budgets. I decided to debunk this myth by finding amazing prices in the chicest of Western New York locations.
In this inaugural edition of Five for $50, we went to Williamsville and Snyder to look for some cool, new pre-spring essentials for under $50. I know its still super-cold, but I typically start dreaming of spring as soon as the new year begins.
1. Feather necklace and earring set, $28
Sarah’s Vintage and Estate Jewelry (5459 Main Street, Williamsville)
This metallic feather necklace set is a great way to class up the trendy bohemian feather accessory look without going too granola. Edgy boho is one of my personal favorite genre blends, and this embodies it. Remember, of course, that everything you will find at Sarah’s is one-of-a-kind vintage so no one else will have it—guaranteed.
2. Retro floral printed colorful tights, $18
Everything Elmwood (4446 Main Street # 1, Amherst)
These are the kind of tights that you may have to go purchase a new dress just to wear, but I think they are totally worth it. These are colorful, fun and will keep you warm no matter what March may bring.
3. White lace dress, $41.95
Taylor K (5823 Main Street, Williamsville)
A seriously important basic, I would actually say that this type of dress is as important to your wardrobe as a good pair of jeans. The cool thing about lace/crochet dresses is that they look as adorable with riding boots and sweaters as they do with espadrilles and a floppy hat. Perfection! Might I add that this new (this year) shop has a ton of cute stuff to pick from and great prices.
4. Tribal Print Blouse, $49
LeeLee (5444 Main Street Williamsville)
I love anything “Jack” by BB Dakota, so no surprises here that this little throw-on, easy-breezy blouse would make it into my spring repertoire any day. I also got a sneak peak of LeeLee’s new spring collection and it is going to be legendary!
5. Embroidered Cross Body Bag, $18
Ten Thousand Villages (5596 Main Street, Williamsville)
Sustainable, Ethical and Cultural make for feel good fashion. I love knowing where my products are coming from, and there are no worries shopping here. Major bonus: this amazing little embroidered-cross body bag is perfection! Embroidery was a newer trend in spring last year, so expect to see it pick up hard again this year. This bag is a great way to express it.
