Sneak peek of Music Is Art tonight

blog by Ben Tsujimoto  •

The 10th edition of Buffalo’s lauded Music Is Art Festival runs on Sept. 15, but for local music and art fans itching for a preview, tonight’s the night to party.

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chef’s Restaurant, 291 Seneca St. in Buffalo, fans and sponsors gather together to learn exclusive news about this year’s event, share a hearty Italian meal and participate in a number of silent and basket auctions. Music Is Art has been unveiling the action items on its Facebook page over the last 24 hours, and they include a package to the Hotel Lafayette, an Adirondack vacation, a Niagara Experience and a signed Goo Goo Dolls guitar and a tour of bassist and MIA founder Robby Takac’s studio.

Individual tickets run for $35, but a pair can be purchased for $60. Visit this link to purchase online and be sure to write “Tickets” in the notes section.

Larger donations are accepted in the ticket section, as the preview party raises the funds to keep the festival free for spectators. This year, more than 100 local bands will converge in Delaware Park behind the Albright-Knox Art Gallery for a full 12 hours of live music, live dance and live art on seven different stages.
