Teach me how to spiffy: CW Star Matt, Ben T try tuxes - VIDEO

Last week, CW Star Matt from Winging It! Buffalo Style and I met at Tuxedo Junction in West Seneca’s Southgate Plaza to try on a few tuxedos prior to attending the Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo Fashion Week Runway Main Event.

For the first half hour, Tuxedo Junction employee and classy attire expert Melissa Stanton let the media duo blindly choose a few outfits themselves, anticipating several fashion faux pas (from me, at least). Wanting to find something with flair without getting garish, Matt and I selected bright colors—deep-down we just wanted to be eye-catching—that we thought could fly on the red carpet.

We, of course, were wrong, and Stanton helped put us in our place with more mature looking designs and appropriate color combinations. We may have embellished the early part of the montage a bit—Matt really isn’t a penguin, even if he mimics one well—but honestly, the final product was something I’d be comfortable in at a super-formal event.
