Turner-Carroll grad Corey Graham shocks the world in Ravens’ playoff win

Who says Buffalo can’t win under pressure? Turner-Carroll graduate Corey Graham, a defensive back for the Baltimore Ravens and the subject of a great feature by Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News, helped the AFC North champs prove the pundits wrong with a huge performance against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Playoffs on Saturday. Facing the vaunted Denver Broncos, future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning and the Manning-vs.-Brady-for-the-conference-title story line that so many sports hacks were salivating for, Graham effectively flipped the script.
With the score tied 7-7 just after the 10-minute mark of the first quarter, Graham snagged a tipped Manning pass and returned the interception 39 yards for a touchdown, silencing the exuberent Denver crowd.

Graham then made a second interception—this pick coming in overtime, with the score tied 35-35, and the Broncos pinned deep in their own territory—that set up the eventual game-winning field goal.

Congratulations, Corey. Here’s hoping Matt Schaub or Tom Brady feel the wrath of Buffalo’s avenging son next week, as well.
