Friday night funk: ReBop at Merge

by Sophie Herrman • December 28, 2011 @ 9:25am
This Friday night, Merge (439 Delaware Ave, Buffalo) will present the latest edition of ReBop, a weekly funk/electronica session featuring some of Buffalo’s top underground musicians. The performance starts at 10 p.m. and admission is free.
ReBop will feature jazz saxophonist Eric Crittenden and guitarist VJ Brown along with local vinyl master DJ Cutler and producer Tone DiGesare. With this eclectic lineup, it comes at no surprise that these shows have been described as “innovative” and “changing the face of modern music” by Max the Greek, popular for his work with the cutting-edge Buffalo group, the Pseudo-Intellectuals. And if you can’t take Max the Greek’s word for it, who can you trust in this crazy world?
A fair trade organic restaurant, the menu at Merge is diverse and always delicious (you can’t beat the beet salad). Want dinner? Reservations can be made by calling (716) 842-0600.
