blog by Kathryn Przybyla • May 17, 2012 @ 12:08pm •
Not every up-and-coming hip hop artist can pull off an impressive debut music video, but it looks like local performer Dipsi has done just that.
UB student and Buffalo resident, Gagan Singh—also known as Dipsi—has been editing audio and video for years but it wasn’t until his 21st birthday that he released his first rock EP. Now, giving hip hop…
Santigold at Town Ballroom - PHOTOS

Santigold brought her mix of new wave, pop, dub, electronica, hip-hop and reggae fusion to Buffalo's Town Ballroom on Wednesday night for a nearly-sold out crowd. She was backed by two amazing dancers (they seemed like they were right out of a synchronized swim team - only they were on stage) and a tight four-piece band. Check out these scenes…

blog by Kathryn Przybyla • May 16, 2012 @ 11:23am •
The Albrights have a new video out and they are starting a revolution. One iPhone at a time.

blog by Kathryn Przybyla • May 16, 2012 @ 9:55am •

Don’t let their stately name fool you.
The Maine, who are actually based out of Tempe, Arizona formed in January of 2007 and haven’t looked back since. After a couple original EP’s in the beginning—“Stay Up, Get Down” and “The Way We Talk”—the group released their furst full album, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” in 2008. Touring later that year with…
Matt Bergman, James Kurdziel to release comedy album
blog by S.J. Velasquez • May 16, 2012 @ 8:00am •
Comedians Matt Bergman and James Kurdziel only needed one take to record “Friends,” a standup comedy album produced by Robby Takac’s Good Charamel records.
“Friends,” slated to go on sale in June, was recorded last October at Mohawk Place—the notorious Buffalo hole-in-the-wall live music venue—to a sold-out crowd, Bergman said.

The ‘great connector’: Santigold to unite genres at Town Ballroom
blog by Ben Tsujimoto • May 15, 2012 @ 2:34pm •
Santi White, or Santigold as she’s more commonly known, isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She thinks electronic dance music is ruining the music industry, and she becomes emotional when Adam Yauch’s name pops up in conversation. One thing’s for sure: as a result of her 2012 album “Master of my Make-Believe,” she’s wildly relevant.
Santigold is set…

blog by Kathryn Przybyla • May 15, 2012 @ 9:05am •
It looks like New York’s favorite television playboy on “How I Met Your Mother” was not a fan of Buffalo girls on Monday night’s season finale for the show.
While trying to get Marshall back in time for the birth of his son, Barney and him ended up on a bus full of senior citizens, heading to Buffalo instead. Take a look at the clip, provided by…
