Columbus Day Parade
The Federation of Italian-American Societies of Western New York is proud to announce a weekend of festivities celebrating Columbus Day, a holiday to celebrate an Italian explorer of unusual daring and ambition who opened up the Americas to the rest of the world.
The Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival of Buffalo sponsors the 7th Annual Columbus Parade. It begins on Hertel Avenue at Virgil Avenue, then proceeds eastward through the heart of Buffalo’s Little Italy, ending at Starin Avenue. This year’s Parade Grand Marshal is Stephen Lanza, President of the Italian-American Police Association and Vice President of the Lake Erie Italian Club. Several marching units, including representatives from the organizations of the Federation of Italian-American Societies of WNY, will participate.
