A Black Friday moment for Wegmans

Customers camped outside overnight in anticipation of the store’s grand opening, some traveling from as far as Texas. Now, this wasn’t Black Friday at Target or the launch of some highly anticipated new Apple product. These shoppers were in line for groceries.
As anyone who’s moved from upstate New York knows, there’s just no comparison to shopping at Wegmans, the Rochester-based grocery store that offers all the essentials, plus prepared foods. That’s why former upstate residents flocked to Northboro, Mass. over the weekend for the opening of Wegmans first New England store.
Buffalo expat Gadi Reinhorn told the Worcester Telegram and Gazette that he moved to New England and “was on a desert island for 10 years. I’m hungry.” Reinhorn and his friends were the first in line, prepared with a tent and camping gear to make it through the night.
