BeerBaconBoobs: The killer Bs

blog by Ben Tsujimoto • September 05, 2012 @ 11:20am
While this could be deemed a “heaven-on-earth” festival for men—what do most guys like more than beer, bacon and boobs?—the variety of food and beer options present at BeerBaconBoobs will not limit enjoyment to a specific gender.
From 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Island Park, 5565 Main St., Williamsville, the inaugural BeerBaconBoobs festival will feature food and drink vendors from all over Western New York. For $30 in advance or $35 at the door, patrons will receive 20 craft beer tastings and a souvenir beer tasting glass. According to the release, company sponsorship dollars, private donations and proceeds from souvenir wristbands will benefit the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York, Inc (hence the “boobs” part of the event title. Sorry, extremely hormonal-driven men).
Don’t expect a ton of domestic beer and soggy bacon strips, as Flying Bison Brewing Co., Pearl Street Brewery, McKenzie’s Hard Cider, Southern Tier Brewing Co., Ellicottville Brewing Co., Dundee Beer, Saranac, Lake Placid, Ommegang, Magic Hat, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Long Trail, Sam Adams, Victory Brewing Co., McTarnahan’s Brewing Co., Pyramid Breweries, Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co., the Seagram Beverage Co. and Twisted Tea Brewing Co. will have product available.
If you’re licking your lips in excitement already, wait until you see the list of bacon-laden treats:
—bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin
—bacon jalapeno cornbread
—bacon macaroni and cheese
—bacon bread pudding
—pork belly sliders
—twice-baked potato boats
—chicken-fried bacon
—cheese-stuffed banana peppers with flatbread
—bangers and mac with bacon
—bacon-wrapped shrimp
—deviled eggs with bacon
The desserts are as follows:
—maple bacon doughnuts
—bacon candy
—salted caramel bacon with caramel beer cake
—bourbon-soaked raisin bread pudding with caramel sauce
—whiskey brown sugar and bacon ice cream
—maple bacon cheesecake
Participating restaurants include Irishman Pub & Eatery, Applewood Cafe, Lake Effect Ice Cream, Fat Bob’s Smokehouse, Brick House Tavern & Tap, Ebenezer Ale house, Parings Wine Bar, Century Grill, Swirls Cupcakery and Pizza Plant. Food is not included in the initial cost of the event, and there’s no word on the individual pricing of the above options.
The event has been organized by Engineered Events LLC, a Williamsville-based company born this June.
