On June 18, a panel of discerning judges determined which cocktail best represented Buffalo’s waterfront at the annual Citybration festival.

A zesty drink known as the “Fire and Ice Boom” won top honors, and you can make it at home. Here’s the winning recipe submitted by Dave Palmeri:

2 oz. vodka
0.5 oz. Triple Sec
1 teaspoon Frank’s RedHot Sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Sprite
Lemon wedge

Instructions: Fill shaker with ice and combine vodka, Triple Sec, Frank’s and lemon juice, and then shake well. Pour into glass full of ice and fill with Sprite, and then stir gently. Garnish: lemon wedge.

Second and third place entries went to loganberry-flavored vodka drinks. Those recipes are available on the Citybration website.
