Dog Ears Cafe in South Buffalo opens for business

Dog Ears Bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, now has an attached cafe with a similar moniker.

Dog Ears Cafe celebrated a soft opening last week, selling baked goods, coffee and other hot drinks. The cafe, which underwent some construction this summer and autumn after Caz Coffee Cafe closed up shop, will celebrate a grand opening in mid-January.

For the next two days, the new cafe will be open limited hours. On Jan. 2, the cafe will implement the following hours of operation: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The menu, created by pastry chef Bridget English, will include scones, yogurt parfaits, berry french toast and more. Have a look at the cafe’s complete offerings here.

The cafe can now be accessed at the front of the building, or customers of the bookstore can approach a brand new counter toward the rear end of the building. The photos below illustrate both counters:

Owner of Caz Coffee Cafe, which previously occupied the space now housing Dog Ears Cafe, recently opened up a brand new eatery on Hertel Avenue. Encompass Coffee Bar and Cafe opened in early December, offering scratch-made baked goods and premium coffee drinks.
