Embrace final Food Truck Tuesday at Larkin Square

With Peter Case and Leroy Townes wrapping up the music on Sept. 18. it was assumed that the day prior would be the final gathering of food trucks for the summer. And it was, until fall officially hit and Western New Yorkers kept demanding food truck-centered events.
Tonight, we promise that the final Food Truck Tuesday at Larkin Square is actually upon us. No more teasing that there will be an extended season—the end is here, so appreciate the vast (and imaginative!) food options, the Rochester visitors and lines of food fanatics converging before they’re gone.
So, between 5 and 8 tonight, the “Truck or Treat” food truck event will haunt Larkin Square, 726 Exchange St., Buffalo. Costume wearers will receive a $1 discount off drinks at The Grill, while there will be trick-or-treating opportunities for kids from truck to truck.
The evening’s entertainment is alluring, too, as the Workingman’s Dead—a six-piece band from Buffalo—will perform the Grateful Dead’s set from its Rich Stadium concert in 1990.
There’s hardly any YouTube footage available from that show 23 years ago, so tonight may be a good time to harken back to the glory years of the Bills’ home venue. The Workingman’s Dead can typically be found playing sets at McGarret’s on Elmwood or at Nietzsche’s on Allen.
Here are some of the food trucks confirmed for tonight’s final Food Truck Tuesday as indicated by their Facebook pages: Rochester’s Macarollin’, The Black Market Food Truck, Lloyd Taco Truck, Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs, The Knight Slider, Hot Off the Press, The Whole Hog, The Cheesy Chick and Amy’s Truck.
