Five more guys?

(Update, 12/13: Due to construction delays, Five Guys Burgers and Fries will not open its Walden Galleria location until Jan. 6 or 7.)

The first Buffalo Five Guys Burgers and Fries fast-food restaurant opened in mid-September on the corner of Transit and Maple to considerable fanfare. Like Dinosaur BBQ, a massively popular chain that resides in Rochester but not Buffalo (but we’re not SORE about this!), Five Guys’ local addicts, who’d been forced to travel an hour on the I-90 to satisfy their cravings, breathed a sigh of relief when Rochester franchise owner Steve Christensen committed to opening three Five Guys locations in the Greater Buffalo area.

Christensen’s second “Buffalo” store will open between Dec. 16 and 19 in the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga. Amusingly, the restaurant will open across from Forever 21—nothing beats buying a tight new dress or slim dress shirt then indulging in a regular (read: double) hamburger and the never-ending mound of Idaho french fries. The good thing? Most 21-year-olds have outstanding metabolisms.
