As many of you may already know, today is July 11, which means it is FREE Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven. As part of the Adventure Gals series, Katie and I traveled to their location at 584 Ontario Street to #freezesohard and get our Slurpee on.

Katie was ambitious enough to combine all eight flavors – lemon crème, Coca-Cola, blue raspberry, wild cherry, Mountain Dew, sugar-free strawberry banana, banana and piña cola – to create one giant explosion of flavor. My concoction was not as outrageous as Katie’s, but delicious nonetheless. I combined blue raspberry, wild cherry and Mountain Dew, which I highly recommend. 

When we got to 7-Eleven, we were showered with treats from their wonderful employees, especially Mark Senay, Senior Director of Operations for 7-Eleven WNY. In addition to our Extra-Large Slurpees (we snagged the biggest cups, because we’re just that cool and endearing), we were able to sample a Big Bite hot-dog that had a “lively” flavor and nachos with all-you-can-eat toppings.

Of course the day would not have been complete without a brain freeze face-off. However, after about 30 seconds of torture we decided to declare it a tie. A few helpful tips courtesy of Katie if you get a brain freeze: press your thumb against the roof of your mouth or push on your forehead and say 2+2= 4. Hopefully those will help, but if not let us know what your secret is.
