Gift a taste of Buffalo this Christmas

As a former Buffalo expat, myself, I remember the moment when my body ached—yes, physical pain—for Imperial Pizza.
Hometown food withdrawal is something often overlooked when considering a move away from the Queen City, but the craving for Mighty Packs washed down by loganberry is a harsh reminder that you can take the expat out of Buffalo, but you can’t take Buffalo out of the expat.
When gift-giving for those who’ve moved away, consider these tastes of home all wrapped in a bow under the former Buffalonian in your life’s tree:
Gramma Mora’s premium burritos - Choose among bean, cheese, and bean and cheese from this Hertel Avenue institution. Six burritos come frozen and can be reheated in a microwave or conventional oven.
Mighty Taco burritos - Stock up on beef and bean burritos by ordering from Mighty Taco’s official website. Must place order by Dec. 18 to ensure delivery by Christmas.
Ted’s pack - This is the ultimate WNY hot dog experience! Get Sahlen’s dogs, Ted’s hot sauce and Weber’s mustard all in one oh-so-Buffalo kit.
Wardynski wieners - So you’re not on the Sahlen’s train? I bet you’re more of a Wardynski WNYer, aren’t you?
Potts Deli pierogi - If not for Christmas, send out a care package full of pierogi for Dyngus Day. These award-winning Polish dumplings come filled with cheese, sauerkraut or potato.
KSisters pierogi - for even more inventive fillings, check out the offerings from this Clinton Street restaurant.
Just Pizza DIY pack - Make your own Just Pizza pie at home! This kit comes with the sauce and add-water dough mix.
Bocce Pizza - This 18-inch original Bocce Pizza comes with all the quality ingredients you loved back in Buffalo. Just heat up the half-baked pie in the oven and enjoy.
La Nova - Choose from a healthy selection of pizzas that include classic cheese and pepperoni, and the more modern Hawaiian Pizza. It’s significantly more expensive than ordering takeout, but these pricy slices will satisfy your Buffalo pizza urges.
