Instead of hibernating at home on a wintry February evening, join Western New Yorkers to sample some of the region’s best food and drink at Polar Bites 2013.

The Feb. 21 event, for adults 21 and older, features vendors of all kinds throughout the upper level of the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. There will be savory snacks, sweets, beer, wine, coffee drinks and more.

Between bites, enjoy entertainment provided by DJ LoPro, and Steve Balesteri and the Good Life Band. There will also be basket auctions, a silent auction and appearances by “animal ambassadors” from the zoo, according to the Polar Bites Facebook page.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. It costs $35 for advance tickets and $45 if purchased at the door. Proceeds benefit the zoo.
