The weather is going to be (consistently) nice outside pretty soon. While we at Buffalo.com are quite fond of beers both foreign and domestic, as well as a wide variety of brown liquors, the glory days of spring and summer often call for an alcoholic beverage that delivers a cool sense of well-being without making you feel like you’re carrying a bowling ball around in your gut. A hearty, hops-fueled belch kind of ruins the magic on those dreamy midsummer evenings.

That’s why Mojito Mondays, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Brodo (4548 Main St., Amherst) and sponsored by Bacardi and your friends at Buffalo.com, are so important.  It’s an opportunity to enjoy an affordable night of quality drinking and an excellent transition into warm-weather beverages.

The traditional mojito is a light and delicious combination of mint, lime, sugar, rum, club soda and ice, a delightful concoction when humidity levels start to climb. Brodo will offer 30 variations on this Cuban classic at half price (as well as half-price appetizers) every week beginning on Monday, May 7.

Ladies: this is a sweet, drinkable favorite. Gentlemen: this is basically a glass of rum. Everybody wins here.
