In the final head-to-head culinary contest in Season Four of Nickel City Chef, reigning Nickel City Chef J.J. Richert of Torches squared off against challenger Chris Dorsaneo, head chef of Lloyd Taco Truck. The secret ingredient was chevre and feta cheese from First Light Farm & Creamery, housed in East Bethany (Genesee County).

Lloyd fans were quite prevalent in the audience at Artisan Kitchens and Baths Sunday afternoon. Tickets for this foodie bout were available for a mere six minutes before selling out.

Despite his status as underdog, Dorsaneo topped Richert 54-50 with help from his sous chef Christopher “Teddy” Bryant. The Lloyd crew, joined by co-owner Peter Cimino, was all smiles following the victory (photo courtesy of the Lloyd Taco Truck Twitter account):

Mother’s Restaurant on Virginia Place was the site of the post-victory celebration, as the Lloyd contingent shared a celebratory shot in Dorsaneo’s honor.

Congratulations to Dorsaneo and Lloyd Taco Truck in toppling one of Buffalo’s culinary giants. With Lloyd Dos on the way, let the wheels of Buffalo’s food truck frenzy continue to roll.
