Even Hungry Hungry Buffaloes competitive eater Phil Kneitinger couldn’t polish off the Barrel, Brawler’s Back Alley Deli’s monster of a sandwich.

But on Oct. 25, you have chance to take a crack at consuming the gigantic deli creation at Brawler’s second annual sandwich-eating extravaganza. If the thought of engaging in such a gluttonous act grosses you out, you can still attend the event to take in all the action from a healthy distance.

Participants who finish the sandwich don’t have to pay for it, but those who don’t complete the feat must pay the price of the regular menu item—and that’s a hefty $29.

Entry is $5, and the money will benefit cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Brawler’s will offer seasonal beer specials, food discounts and Thursday Night Football on 14 TVs throughout the pub. Channel 4’s Bryan Shaw will emcee the event, and at least one local television personality is rumored to be entering the eating competition.

Brawler’s is located in the lower level of Pearl Street Grill and Brewery, 76 Pearl St. in Buffalo.
