Taking Timmies to the limit

Don’t be surprised to see more Tim Hortons coffee-doughnut shops popping up around Western New York in the coming months. The Canadian chain sees growth potential in cities that border Canada, including Buffalo, Detroit and Columbus, Ohio.

You won’t see me complaining. I’m a huge advocate for all things Timmies.

“We know our brand works in the U.S. and we are in the U.S. for the long haul,” former chief executive Don Schroeder said during a shareholders meeting. (In related news, Schroeder is no longer with the company.)

Back in November, I spoke to a Tim Hortons representative who explained that the company would close up New England shops with lagging sales in order to concentrate on established markets like Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.

The Buffalo News reports that a fourth Lockport store is scheduled to open in the fall. The more the merrier, I say.
