J.P. Bullfeathers brought its A-game to the Taste of Buffalo.  Narrowing down a choice from the Jack Daniels’ Glazed Chicken Fingers, the Tempura Fried Green Beans with Dipping Sauce and the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Lollipop was tough.  I didn’t even consider the healthy choice—the Italian Artichoke Salad—because who goes to Bullfeathers to lose weight?  Not I, said the plump American.

Although our Buffalo Eats pals were disappointed in the quality of the cheese in the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Lollipop, I thought it was easily the best dish I sampled.  Texture is a defining quality for me, and the crunch of the herb-breaded outside with the soft, gooey inside was pleasant.  There was no actual lollipop stick, as you can see from the photo; it was more of a meatball shape eaten with a fork than a ball on a stick that you licked.  This description is getting weird. 

The “Lollipop” couldn’t stand on its own, though—it relied heavily on the accompanying salsa for flavor, a point that didn’t go unnoticed by the aforementioned food gurus.  There’s been no word yet from the Bullfeathers folks about whether the “Lollipop” will be added to the regular menu, served as a special or chalked up as a creative failure.  Details to come.
