After running errands frantically Thursday, The Cheesy Chick food truck owner Alexis Andrzejak is as ready as she’ll ever be to begin her food truck venture.

The Cheesy Chick, armed with a mobile food vendor permit from the City of Buffalo, will vend for the first time at 5 p.m. today on Hertel Ave. While Andrzejak hasn’t decided upon a specific location yet, she aims to park as close to the Hertel and Colvin intersection as possible.

Expect an update between 4 and 5 p.m. from the Cheesy Chick Facebook and Twitter accounts with particulars. The bright orange and purple truck is rather recognizable, too, so odds are favorable that you won’t have to look too hard.

“I wasn’t really sure how much [food] to prepare,” Andrzejak said in a phone call Thursday night. “It’s my first time doing this, you know?” She doesn’t have a set time at which she anticipates closing—that will be determined by when she runs out of product.

Andrzejak plans to offer one special Friday night called the French Chick, which features Gruyere cheese (nutty, slightly sweet) and caramelized onions—like French onion soup-style onions, Andrzejak explained—on sourdough bread for ~$6.
