With Girl Scout cookie deliveries making their way to homes all across Western New York this week, a few boxes made their way to the Buffalo.com offices Tuesday afternoon.

We were joined by four local Girl Scouts of WNY to taste some of the famous cookies that most people wait all year to indulge in. The treats were first featured on Buffalo.com in a post by S.J. last month, explaining all the varieties and when people could place their orders. Ben T., Katie, S.J. and I were more than happy to taste and figure out our favorites.

Personally, I can never say no to a Thin Mint cookie. Maybe it is because I was a Girl Scout myself growing up, but those classic little chocolate wafers have been my favorite for years. For S.J., she was a big fan of the Peanut Butter Patties, but the Thin Mints also came a close second. Our visiting Girl Scouts were fans of the Peanut Butter patties as well. Between the group of us, we finished a whole box.

Katie was more interested in the Caramel deLites, saying she loves coconut and everything covered in caramel and chocolate. With a small glass of milk, our cookie taste was completed, leaving us with a slight sugar-high to finish working the rest of the day.

The girls also took a tour of the Buffalo News building after our cookie tasting and we were delighted to show them around.
