Tim Hortons smile cookie

Tim Hortons has been serving smile cookies to support area organizations since 1996, and the campaign is still going strong in the Buffalo area where the cookies are once again for sale.

Starting today, sales of $1 smile cookies—which are double-sized chocolate chip cookies—benefit Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Tim Hortons announced on Facebook. The goal is to raise $500,000 over the course of five years to establish the Tim Horton Children’s Center for Injury Care and Prevention.

The limited-time-only program got its start in nearby Hamilton, Ontario, back in the mid-‘90s as a fundraising effort for Hamilton Children’s Hospital.

From now through Monday (or while supplies last), 95 Western New York Tim Hortons locations will carry the cookies.
