Wednesday is Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven

Slurpees: free for you and me on Wednesday.

blog by Ben Kirst  •

A few years ago, I moved into the village of Orchard Park. And I was fired up about the 7-Eleven on South Buffalo Street.

I grew up in a part of Western New York that never had a 7-Eleven. I used to see commercials for 7-Eleven on the New York City television stations all of the time. I felt like I was really missing out on something important.

In O.P., I was literally 30 seconds from that 7-Eleven in the heart of the village and was there every day. I drank more Big Gulps (Diet Pepsi with a flavor-shot of Mountain Dew) than most of the kids in the neighborhood. I knew the employees by name. Even though we moved back into Buffalo after two years, I still look back on those 7-Eleven days fondly. I probably should not mention that I was 30 at the time.

This week, we can all feel the 7-Eleven love together. The convenience store chain, which recently devoured Wilson Farms, is celebrating Free Slurpee Day on Wednesday, May 23. Here’s the word, straight from 7-Eleven’s Facebook page:

Summer’s here and so is FREE Slurpee. Swing by 7-Eleven on May 23rd between 11a-7p and grab yourself 7.11 ounces of cool, refreshing glory juice. Our treat! And don’t miss our new Slurpee Lite™ Fanta Sugar-free Mango - 50% fewer calories. Same big Slurpee taste.

I’ll be honest, Sugar-Free Mango Slurpees sound kind of gross. But there are tons of Slurpee flavors to consider: Sprite Snowball Blast (that sounds pretty good), Red Apple Chill, Twisted Citrus, Mango Melody and about a million more.

This offer is good at participating 7-Elevens across the country.
