When Wegmans $6 meals stop being $6

Five Wegmans $6 meals are now $8.

Bring an extra couple of bucks if you’re heading to Wegmans for your chicken parmesan and two sides.

Wegmans has increased the price of a handful of Wegmans $6 meals to make up for pricey ingredients and labor needed to make the takeout dishes, the Democrat and Chronicle reports.  The price increase affects only a limited number of meals—PHEW!—while most of the others will remain at $6, Wegmans spokeswoman Jo Natale told the Rochester newspaper.

The items now being sold at $8 are chicken parmesan, Italian breaded pork chop, chicken marsala, fried chicken and meatloaf. Both the chicken parm and pork chop meals will include a side of pasta, along with the two sides already served with the meals.

Phew—I must have purchased one of the finally $6 Italian breaded pork chops.  It truly was breaded with Italy.

Is it just me or is it kind of awkward how Alec Baldwin and the lady he’s shopping with just touch heads at the end of the video when they’re out in the parking lot…?

I’m willing to bet that it’s his mother—but I’m not sure.  That part coincides with him talking about family.  It would, however, be extremely awkward if it was a random woman.  There are better ways to show affection than the gentle head butt.

That is, indeed, his mother Carol. The money he made from shooting this commercial went straight to his mother’s foundation, which benefits cancer research.
