Toronto continues its city-crush on Buffalo

You’re a stellar Buffalo ambassador, Richard Ouzounian. The Toronto Star theater critic has published two articles in the last two weeks detailing Buffalo’s cultural wealth. A fortnight ago, Ouzounian suggested six Buffalo restaurants to Toronto citizens, from the relatively obvious—the Anchor Bar—to the more obscure—Organic 3 Cafe and Ambrosia, and he had favorable things to say about all of them.
On Thanksgiving Day, the Star writer highlighted popular destinations in Buffalo for Canadian shoppers—many of whom cross the border to exploit Black Friday sales—to experience once they’re done shopping.
Featured primarily because of their historical value and architectural greatness, the Frank Lloyd Wright creations—the Darwin Martin House and the Graycliff Estate—top Ouzounian’s list. Shea’s Performing Arts Center made the cut as well, largely because of its impeccable restoration and attractive offerings—Wicked and the Lion King both came this year.
Although Ouzounian also touted the Albright-Knox Art Gallery—another expected choice—he also drew attention to the Burchfield Penney and MusicalFare Theatre, two relatively unknown hot-spots from a national (or international) perspective. Good looks!
