Revisit a different kind of Renaissance at the Tralf.

They feel witty, oh so witty.

Update: We have a winner. Congratulations, Paul Westover! We’ll be in touch shortly.

It’s Canada Day, and I spent the whole morning thinking about how awesome it was to grow up so close to Ontario. Buffalonians can drive to Toronto in about the same time it takes to get to Rochester. We’ve been drinking Tim Hortons double-doubles since the ‘80s. We watched Sesame Street in two languages.

Recently, a writer from Toronto gave Buffalo some love. Now it’s our turn to talk up our neighbors to the north—well, west.

For today’s Friday Favorites contest, answer the following question: What’s your favorite part of living so close to Canada?

Answer the question in the comments section below, and we’ll choose one respondent at random who will receive a family day pass to the Buffalo Zoo! Winner announced at 4 p.m.

Niagara on the Lake! I love the arts, and ambiance and the quaint shops and yummy food. It’s beautiful!

Now matter what anyone says, we actually have some of the best weather.  Our seasons are beautiful here and each one is unique and SAFE!  No hurricanes or tornados (usually!).

Hockey coverage on television. If the cable goes out, I can still catch a game over the air on CBC!

The friendship trail that goes from Ft Erie to Pt Colborne! It’s such a great bike ride.

The best part is being able to catch all of the concerts in Toronto that aren’t able to make a stop in Buffalo! I’ve seen Pearl Jam more in Toronto/Canada than I have in Buffalo.

Toronto being so close is great. And a quick little jaunt over to Ming Teh for Chinese is always a plus.
