116th annual YMCA Turkey Trot

by Don Nieman  •

On this mostly overcast, breezy yet temperate Thanksgiving morning in Buffalo, over 13,000 runners participated in the oldest continually running foot-race in North America. Runners of all ages, decked out in everything from serious running regalia to stuffed turkey costumes, ran the 8K course from Hertel Ave. down Delaware ending at the Buffalo Convention Center. Participants, besides having the fun of the run, helped feed needy Western New Yorkers through contributions to the Food Bank of WNY.
