This weekend, over 125 poets will join together for a unique event hosted at Silo City to promote social, environmental and political change.
100,000 Poets and Artists for Change will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 28) at Silo City—92 Childs St., Buffalo.
The all day event will include video art curated by Squeaky Wheel, live music in between readings, interactive art from (B)uffalo (A)rt (D)ispensary, Talking Leaves Books and local presses selling books and printed matter and a array of local food trucks.
According to event organizers, “To commemorate this historic gathering of local talent, the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System and The Poetry Collection at the University at Buffalo are inviting participants to bring copies of their books to donate to both collections, ensuring that works by local writers will be available to the wider public long after this single-day event is over.”
Other tips for the day include bringing along your own beverages and wearing comfortable shoes—leave the stiletto boots at home, people.
There is free parking for the event and you can find more information through the Just Buffalo Literacy Center website for details.
