Aaron Draplin: ‘Tall Tales from a Large Man’

blog by Kathryn Przybyla  •

I’m a big fan of inspirational talks about my future, but this one will certainly be a first.

As part of the Advertising Club of Buffalo’s “Ad Week,” professionals in the area have a number of great events to check out that include great networking opportunities and programs.

According to the Ad Club of Buffalo,

Using scientific proof and state-of-the-art multimedia techniques, Aaron James Draplin of the Draplin Design Co. delivers a sucker punch of a talk that aims to provide bona fide proof of work, the highs and lows of a ferociously independent existence and a couple of tall tales from his so-called career in the cutthroat world of contemporary graphic design.

Just a regular guy with a trajectory a little dirtier than yours, his talk is open to all oncomers brave enough to show up. If you are a youngster, you may find yourself inspired to attack your design future in a different way. If you are established, you may just leave feeling grateful you don’t have anything to do with him.

You will have a chance to listen to and chat with the man himself as Draplin gives a presentation entitled, “Tall Tales from a Large Man.” The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday with a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and a chance to speak with Aaron himself. The presentation will follow at 8 p.m. at Pearl Street Brewery. If you purchase tickets ahead of time student member tickets are $10, member tickets are $15 and non-member tickets are $25. Purchasing at the door, add $5 to the cost.

For more information on Aaron Draplin’s presentation, head over to the Eventbrite page.
