Buffalo Magazine set out to find Buffalo’s best husband, and the man to win top honors is featured in an upcoming edition of the magazine, due out this weekend.

David Miller, an orthopedic surgeon and mechanical engineer who holds an MBA, is also an all-star dad to seven children.

“He has all of this professional success,” Buffalo Magazine editor Jennifer Lata Rung said. “That didn’t stop him from changing diapers or making a sign for the lawn every time his wife returned home from the hospital with a new baby.”

On Sundays, the doctor runs home after checking on his patients to cook up a family breakfast.

Miller, nominated by his wife Debby Miller, told Buffalo Magazine, “He’s a better mom than me!”

David Miller was just one of about 140 nominees for the contest, Rung said. And though he won the big title, there were plenty of other men nominated by friends and family members for their outstanding roles as husbands.

Two runners-up were chosen, as well as an honorable mention.

Cliff Minter and John Bellassai, both nominated by their respective mothers-in-law, were named runners-up for the contest. Mike McCabe, who passed away in November after a struggle with brain cancer, was nominated by his brother-in-law, who said in an essay submitted to Buffalo Magazine McCabe, “He showed me the joy in changing diapers, being present for those you love, and most importantly, treating your wife as you did your bride.”
