Bulls, Bandits on Tap for Saturday

blog by BuffaloDotCom  •

Perfect night to go check out a Buffalo sports event, right?  It’s not like you’re going to bounding around outside in a track jacket like yesterday.  A night after the Sabres’ debacle at HSBC Arena, the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits (4-2) face a conference opponent they’ve already beaten twice this year, the Philadelphia Wings (3-4).  Buffalo walloped the Wings in Philadelphia last weekend, 16-7, as John Tavares scored his all-time leading 700th career goal in the decisive win.  Faceoff is scheduled for 7:35 PM.

Up at Alumni Arena, the University at Buffalo Bulls expect a stiff challenge from ESPN Bracketbuster opponent University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.  The Bulls are amid a troubling two game conference skid; losses to Ohio University and Eastern Michigan have emphasized how reliant Buffalo is on its starting backcourt, Byron Mulkey and Zach Filzen.  Milwaukee cruises into tonight’s contest (7 PM) on a seven game winning streak, which includes wins over 2010 National Championship Runner-up Butler and Horizon League leader Valparaiso.

Find coverage of both contests tonight on Buffalo.com.
