Chop your own Christmas tree

Celebrate the season and display your raw machismo in one swoop this December by chopping down your very own Christmas tree.
A handful of tree farms around Buffalo offer locals an opportunity to select and chop their own trees. Unlike the pop-up retail stands where pre-chopped trees are displayed on wooden stands and sold, chop-your-own trees are fresh as can be.
Here’s a list of local farms, courtesy of ChristmasTreeMap.com and the Evergreen 2012 Buyers Guide, that allow buyers to cut down their own trees:

For those who opt to buy real but don’t want to do their own cutting, be sure to check for freshness. The Buffalo News offers these tips to tree-buyers who need a little guidance.
