After a successful TEDxBuffalo event back in October, Buffalo will be part of another TED talks event this weekend. Joining 150 other cities around the world, Buffalo will play host to this local TEDxWomen event sharing ideas by and for women.
The Buffalo TEDxWomen event will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Auditorium of the Central Library in downtown Buffalo. Tickets to the live conference are currently sold-out but you can watch a live-stream of the conference here. For live-stream parties at other local locations, check out the list of participating spots.
According to event organizers, “Diana Cihak of Women Events Buffalo thought it was time to bring the female-focused conference here. “We thought this would be an incredible opportunity to bring people together and have our own event with a local flavor to create a platform for local speakers and women like them all over the globe to share their stories,” Cihak said.”
Saturday’s speakers include the following talks:
Amber Small: “A Look Past the Numbers: What Keeps Women Out of Elected Office”
Peggy Brooks-Bertram: “The Space Between Living and Dying: Living Well in the 7th Decade”
Terri Parsel Hilmey: “To All the Single Ladies – You’re Fine!”
Amy Jo Lauber: “The Space Between Our Left and Right Brains Where Financial Decisions are Made (Or, Not Made)”
Karima Amin: “I Love ME Some ME!”
Renee Martinez: “The Space Between Venus and Mars: Women in the Digital Universe”
Gina Paigen: “From Fear to Forgiveness to Forward”
Tamara McMillan: “A Rock and A Hard Place”
Cecily Rodriguez: “Flex”
Maria Angelova: “What Does Your Dash Represent?”
