It’s ‘Twittamentary’: Free screening Wednesday

blog by Ben Tsujimoto • October 08, 2012 @ 11:25am
It’s not too difficult to recall our fondest moments on Twitter, mostly because the social media platform is such a recent phenomenon. S.J. recalls the time NPR Fresh Air re-tweeted her, Kat harkens back to the time when B.J. Novak followed her and Ben T. was startled by the response he received from Darren Rovell. As a whole, the most proud moment for the @Buffalodotcom account was a direct message from Aziz Ansari. Don’t act like you’re not impressed.
The short film Twittamentary, a movie of aggregated Twitter stories ranging from haters to the homeless to legal prostitutes. The preview video—embedded below—notes 338 crowd-sourced stories from three separate continents, telling figures for just how interconnected Twitter has made the world.
Ad Club of Buffalo and Social Media Club Buffalo present a free screening of Twittamentary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Buffalo Museum of Science (theater downstairs), 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo. Even though there’s no charge for the Ad Week event, you’ll need to RSVP through the EventBrite ticketing system.
Tech News Daily ran a more detailed article on Twittamentary, introducing Siok Siok and Geo Geller as the two creators of the film which highlights several personal Twitter stories, including that of Buffalo.com favorite Ramon DeLeon.
Twittamentary, which was released this past June, draws comparisons to the even more detailed Facebook Stories, a project that shows the difference-making value of Facebook in daily life.
