You bet your kielbasa that Buffalo loves Dyngus Day.

After the whirlwind of a media storm that took place this morning regarding Anderson Cooper’s comments on Dyngus Day, Buffalo has responded—with kielbasa. Eddy Dobosiewicz, co-founder of Dyngus Day Buffalo, had a few choice words for Mr. Cooper in response to his comments.

In a press release sent to the media this morning,

“We take Dyngusing very serious in the Dyngus Day capital of the world. Sure it’s a great party filled with spirited adult revelry, but Polish pride and the celebration of Easter are at the center of the day which is a highlight on the Buffalo social calendar.”

Dyngus Day Buffalo has invited Cooper to attend Dyngus Day 2013 and experience one of America’s greatest ethnic festivals for himself.

“It’s only appropriate that Cooper is named the 2013 Pussy Willow Prince as next year’s Dyngus Day falls on April 1st—April Fools Day,” explained Dobosiewicz. “A ride on the historic Fireboat Cotter, the world’s largest Dyngus Day squirt gun, will also be on the Dyngus tour of Buffalo if Cooper accepts our invite.”

The invitation to attend Dyngus Day and the title of the “Pussy Willow Prince” will come in the form of a box from BuffaloFoods.com featuring Redlinski’s Polish sausage and pussy willows.

Upon learning of Buffalo’s dismay by the original comments, Cooper took to his twitter to release a public apology.

It was also revealed at the Pussy Willow Pride rally that Dobosiewicz will be on AC360 tonight to formally invite Cooper to the Dyngus Day festivities for next year. While no specific time was given, Cooper’s show airs weeknights at 8 and 10 p.m. ET on CNN.
