The First Weekend Results Are In:
John struggled in the Brewers’ season opener on Thursday, taking the loss after surrendering a late-inning HR to Cincinnati catcher Ramon Hernandez. John was given Saturday off - a 4-2 Brew Crew loss to the Reds - and cut his ERA from 54.00 to 27.00 with 0.2 innings of scoreless relief in Milwaukee’s 12-3 defeat at Cincy. The Brewers are 0-3 to start the season and will come home to Milwaukee on Monday for the first game of the 2011 campaign at Miller Park. In town will be the Atlanta Braves, who are 2-1.
The Stat Line:
2 G, 1.1 IP, 1 K, 1 BB, 4 ER, 4 H. John is 0-1 with a 27.00 ERA.
Did You Know…
John transferred to Canisius College from Notre Dame in 2005. John had a career record of 14-6 with 137 strikeouts and a 4.48 ERA in 144.2 innings for the Fighting Irish and pitched in the 2002 College World Series tournament.
