In what sounds like the butt of a gruesome joke, 40,000 pounds of chicken went up in flames near Rochester on Thursday.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, and 18-wheeler traveling from Mississippi to Western New York caught fire, cooking the tractor trailer’s cargo: chicken.

The poultry shipment was bound for the Wegmans Distribution Center in Chili, N.Y., but a fire started when the truck’s brake overheated, fire investigators said. The driver was not hurt, but the chicken was badly burned—though the chickens were already dead.
